The mission of the Foire Gourmande is to promote the agri-food industry in the region and organize activities to showcase agro-transformed products; and it succeeds by having developed a winning formula. By offering a free access event that combines regional product tastings, entertainment, music, shows (art and cuisine), crafts, and children’s games, it has become the ultimate showcase for regional products and has greatly contributed to their awareness and recognition.

Beautiful principles are associated with the Foire Gourmande of Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Northeastern Ontario: buying local, respecting the environment, a desire for good food, providing a platform for regional artists, the strength of multiple collaborations, volunteer involvement, a family-oriented atmosphere, and more. The event is socially well-accepted, recognized, and eco-responsible. Moreover, the event requires incredible mobilization. Not less than 500 volunteers come together to make the grand celebration possible every year, during the third weekend of August, to welcome thousands of visitors.
